MY LITTLE ITALY
“My Little Italy” reflects the loving vision of the life and music of pianist Jean-Pierre Como, “Artist Steinway”. It is an ode to sweetness, to Mediterranean melodies, between tradition and modernity. It is a living memory that is not based in any way on the evocation of memories, but rather on the evocation of an imagination, of moments, of perfumes, of places that exist, have existed or will exist.
This dreamlike record, which navigates between elegance, simplicity and emotion, brings together a series of original compositions, inspired by this solar theme, and a few covers of Italian songs. After “Express Europa” as a Septet with singers Hugh Coltman and Walter Ricci, and the “Infinite” adventure as a quartet, Jean-Pierre Como wanted to conceive a tighter project that once again highlights the voice.
In communion of spirit with Walter Ricci, Jean-Pierre Como composed a series of new songs for “My Little Italy”, and also worked in duet with this singer on the joint writing of certain titles (co-composition and co-writing). As a result, Jean-Pierre Como envisaged this adventure as if Walter Ricci was really his extension, his voice. He went looking for the timbre he wanted in this musician according to his musical intentions, giving birth to rare moments of creation, intense exchange, in all sincerity. The album contains 9 songs (in Italian, Neapolitan and English), and 2 tracks are instrumentals.
Jean Pierre Como has surrounded himself, immersed in the Studio Recall, with musicians, poets and accomplices: Walter Ricci, André Ceccarelli, Felipe Cabrera, Minino Garay and Rémi Vignolo, a team of great talent. Louis Winsberg and Christophe Lampidecchia added their touch to this album.
