This remarkable collection of conversations with French pianist Michel Petrucianni came down on two extraordinary afternoons, separated by many months and thousands of miles. The first conversation was held in a recording studio on lower Broadway in New York in 1988 where he and I discussed his remarkable musical and personal path. The second conversation took place three years later in Paris, where he and Bob Malach gave four tour-de-force performances of his original composition « My Bebop Tune » and several other jazz standards. Story telling at its best.
